A complex part that was the product of extensive collaboration from concept to reality.

Key points:

Needing to be aesthetically pleasing, but also optimised for manufacture
Part to be made as lightweight as possible
High degree of tolerance achieved on join lines
Utilising materials to withstand high concentrations of salt
Manufacturing method— mix of hand and spray lay

Collaborating with an industrial designer to come up with a genuinely new concept for this market, with a styling ‘wow’ factor, but still practical and cost effect to manufac- ture.

The design cleverly utilises an inner and outer “skin” that join seamlessly, creating an insulated gap between them to help maintain water temperature during a use.

An innovative sliding mechanism allowed the door to beeffortlessly moved out of the way.

Heating elements were also bonded into the GRP onto theinner face to keep the water at a constant temperatureduring use together with

The pipework to drain the tanks were designed so as notto spoil the sleek aesthetics, with the inlets/outlets as-sembled during the manufacturing stages.
