MRPRunning an efficient factory which delivers parts on time, to the correct specification and at the right price requires careful planning. Using MRP (Manufacture Resource Planning) software, which covers every critical element from order placement, through to raw materials planning and ordering is essential in helping factory planning and work optimisation. Checks and balances are in place to assure all elements of the process from the point of customer order, through part and process specification, procurement, manufacturing, packaging and despatch. KPI’s are used throughout the business to help drive efficiency and ensure customers’ needs are met. |
Research and DevelopmentWe have a Research and Development area where the company investigate and develop manufacturing methods and trial alternative materials and technologies. The best of these technologies, techniques and materials are taken forward into production for the benefit of our customers. More than just a contract manufacturer, continual investment and development mean we can also offer solutions where conventional established methods may have limitations. |

Project ManagementWe believe in considering all aspects of a project at the earliest stages to ensure we are able to fully support a customer rather than simply saying “Yes”! If we do not feel we can meet your exacting requirements, we will be open about this and recommend other options where possible. Sometimes that may mean many questions – In our experience ‘upfront loading’ is a key success factor, especially in more complex projects, Quantum routinely work on complex, multi-faceted projects which are planned together with the customer to meet timelines and deadlines, using well established planning tools and techniques. This includes both internal and customer project meetings and reviews, as well as interactions with other suppliers and subcontractors. |
MaterialsQuantum work with a number of leading suppliers to meet the exacting requirements of the parts. Working with the best suppliers give us access to both excellent technical support as well as new innovations and developments. Where possible, Quantum have a minimum of two and usually three approved material options for the main materials used in production. This provides assurance for you that production won’t stop because one of our suppliers cannot source or deliver material. A testing and approval process is followed to approve new key materials, and supplier performance is routinely monitored internally; this is also audited externally during our regular ISO 9001 audits. |
