Using GRP & Fibreglass for Leisure Projects
GRP and fibreglass give leisure designs freedom of shape and colour, a lighter build for mobile or elevated parts, and strength that holds up outdoors, in crowds and through changing weather. |
Our Manufacturing Capabilities
Complex, multi-part leisure shapes call for tooling and layup skill. Quantum moulds have intricate curves and split lines that many GRP fabricators can't match, which are finished to the customer’s required standard. |

Leisure GRP Use Case Examples
Real leisure projects show what GRP can do, from mobile living space to public attractions built for crowds.
Fibreglass Pop Top Roofs
Elevating roofs, often known as ‘pop-tops’, for camper vans such as the Ford Transit or VW Transporters have become a staple to Quantum’s fibreglass leisure products portfolio.
Collaborations with our customer led to us producing the first roofs with a gelcoat underside, raising the quality of the finish in the marketplace.
Unlike many elevating roofs in the market, we make roofs using an RTM Lite closed mould process, which ensures exceptional part to part consistency, as well as an excellent surface finish on the underside, meaning that the roof looks just as good from underneath when you’re gazing upwards to the stars. |
Theme Park Ride Manufacturing
Our technical experience is well suited to parts for theme park attractions, which are typically vibrantly coloured custom parts that may need complicated multi split moulds. Whether covers for carousel cars or GRP water slides, Quantum can produce theme park components at scale.
To ensure optimum safety, amusement park structures often need to meet stringent fire regulations, achievable with fire-resistant gelcoats and resins.
From UV-resistant material choices to making complex split moulds, Quantum is positioned to support development and convert ideas into production.
Quantum have manufactured parts for some world-renowned icons, such as the London Eye, Madam Tussauds, Legoland and Disney. |

Bespoke GRP Assets
Most work runs at higher volume, but Quantum occasionally takes on lower-volume, complex parts such as fibreglass sculptures, where the value justifies the development of complex tooling.
This includes prestige items such as this finely finished table made for a Porsche dealership. |
Performance & Material Considerations
Outdoor leisure parts face constant UV exposure, weather and close public inspection. Where required, Quantum selects UV-stable gelcoats to resist fading, and finishes the part to the standard leisure customers expect. |
